2nd Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting At 17th Street, 3rd Avenue

TAMPA, FL — The U.S. Marshal's Service has made a second arrest in a July 5 homicide of a man who was shot while walking to his car. At 3:26 a.m., a man was walking to his car near 17th Street and 3rd Avenue when he was gunned down. Police administered CPR until the man was transported to the hospital where he died. After reviewing video surveillance tapes, detectives arrested Marquis Lezate Walter, 27, of 14501 Prism Circle, Tampa, on July 14 and charged him with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of the victim. Now the U.S. Marshal's Service has arrested Johnnie Jerome Williams, 51, of 1112 E. Jefferson St., Brooksville, for aiding and abetting in the homicide by acting as a lookout for Walter. He is charged with first-degree premeditated murder Detectives learned the victim and Walter were involved in fight earlier in the night.
