Investigation Underway After Driver Crashes Into Georgetown Gym

GEORGETOWN, MA — A 90-year-old Boxford man and his passenger were taken to a hospital after police say he crashed his car into the front of a Georgetown gym Sunday. Emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into a building on Central Street around 2 p.m. Police and fire officials say they found a Nissan SUV lodged inside Get In Shape For Women. An initial investigation found the man was attempting to back into a parking space when he struck the building. A building inspector said the building is structurally sound. The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital, but are suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
