HARLEM, NY — A man was killed Monday afternoon when he jumped in front of a train as it pulled into a Harlem subway station, police said. It happened around 12:35 p.m. at the 125th Street–Lenox Avenue station. The motorman driving a southbound 3 train saw the man leap in front of the oncoming train before being struck, according to police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His age and identity were not immediately known. The accident forced southbound trains to skip the stop for about an hour.
