Press release from the Fox Cities Chamber: August 2, 2021 Appleton-based marketing agency Writing by Design recently won three Hermes Creative Awards – two Gold and an Honorable Mention – in the 2021 Hermes Creative Awards competition for work it completed for two of its clients, as well as for its own brand marketing. This marks the third consecutive year Writing by Design has earned top honors, enhancing its reputation as a small-but-mighty agency that consistently delivers big results. The international competition, administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, recognizes excellence in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. "I'm thrilled to see our marketing team's work be recognized with three Hermes Creative Awards," said Patti Purcell, owner of Writing by Design. "The two gold awards we received this year are particularly meaningful, because it involved helping clients overcome challenges related to the pandemic. We take great pride in knowing we made a positive impact during such a difficult time." Writing by Design earned a Gold Award in the PR/Communications | Strategic Programs | Pandemic Response category for educational materials developed for LiftFund's Women's Business Centers of Dallas and San Antonio COVID-19 Business Resiliency Programs. The award-winning work included animating and producing bilingual educational training videos, and ideating, writing and designing a 24-page guide to help small businesses bounce back from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Writing by Design won a second Gold Award in the PR/Communications | Strategic Programs | Live or Virtual Event category for an email marketing campaign for St. Mary Catholic Schools in Neenah, Wisconsin to announce that the school's largest annual fundraising event, Zephyrfest, was switching to a virtual format due to social distancing. The effort resulted in engaging nearly 500 attendees who contributed a record-setting $568,000 for the school system. Writing by Design also earned an Honorable Mention in the Marketing Collateral | Branding | Holiday Card category for the design of their 2020 holiday card. The four-fold Thanksgiving-themed card featured a heartfelt thanks to clients in the time of COVID-19 pandemic, a thoughtful message to remain grateful in tough times, traditional family recipes from staff and a cut-out ornament to hang on the Christmas tree. More than 6,000 entries were submitted from throughout the United States and dozens of other countries for the 2021 Hermes Awards competition.
