Learn about javelin mechanics and throwing technique from USA #1 ranked and Tokyo Olympian, Curtis Thompson!
This one-day clinic will teach aspiring Olympians all aspects of being a successful javelin thrower. Curtis Thompson and USATF coach, Joey Longoria will teach techniques that every thrower, from beginner to college bound athletes, can take away and throw farther! The instruction will also cover strength and fitness and how this part of training during the off-season and in-season complements your throwing on the runway. Our head nutrition consultant, Dr. Rachel Mitchell (NCAA D1 Track and Field All-American) will also discuss the importance of balanced nutrition and how to properly fuel your body. Last, we will have our physical therapy professionals on hand to address injury prevention and how to handle certain injuries typically associated with javelin athletes. This camp is loaded with information and will be beneficial for athletes, coaches, and parents! (Parents, coaches, and caregivers are welcome to accompany their athlete or athletes attending)
