An Evening with Alaska's Port Chilkoot and Co-Owner Heather Slade Heather Slade is a former biologist who brings a scientist’s curiosity to her work and loves experimenting with botanicals and distillation to create spirits with an unmistakable sense of place. Since 2012, Slade and husband Sean Copeland have been making the spirits at Port Chilkoot Distillery in Haines with the aim of creating something local, delicious, and authentically Southeast Alaskan. Port Chilkoot handcrafts Boatwright Bourbon , Wrack Line Rye Whiskey, and Old School Whiskey from grain to barrel.
