RESTON, VA — Stop, stop! No more! We get it. Reston loves cats. Last week, Patch put out a call on social media asking for Reston cat owners to share photos of their favorite felines to celebrate International Cat Day on Sunday. And boy did they respond. Patch was so overwhelmed with the number of photos we received we decided to post two photo galleries, one on Friday and the other on Monday. Below you will find the latest batch of cat photos from Reston. One last thing for dog owners — Patch has not forgotten about you. International Dog Day is Thursday, Aug. 26. Keep an eye on Facebook and Neighbor posts for an announcement of when we'll be accepting photos of your canine companions. (Diane Rickman) There's a walkabout kitty named Milo in N. Reston who has become quite the local celebrity. He is well known in neighborhoods along about a 2 mile path, and his picture has been posted countless times in this forum and also on Nextdoor. — Kate Bulow Dunn, Reston He definitely has celebrity status — in North Reston. I'm thankful he is a love-bug and people have been so kind to he and me. Yes, NextDoor posts are countless times and tells the Milo journey, he has met so many families for which I am grateful. I wasn't on NextDoor until my niece said she would post a picture at a time when he was in the "missing" status. So, I got on and to my surprise that were many threads about him: he had four names, many favorite "haunts" that he would go to (ARC, Popular Grove, Red Hawk) hang out, stay for a bit and move on, sometimes back home, other times . I've met so many of you, I now get Milo alert texts, where he is and I go to that location, early morning, or dinner time, scoop him up and he's back home, for a bit . Little-bit, Freeloader, Smudge, I mean Milo would be a good kitty for this article. — Diane Rickman, Reston Mitty Kitty has a challenge – Jim Lake and Laguna, our three month old kittens, wish you a happy International Cat Day! — Mariel Ed, Reston This is my cat Hampton.
