Stabbing, Robbery Reported In Manassas: Police

MANASSAS, VA — A man in Manassas was choked, robbed, and cut with a knife on Friday, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The accused assailant is still at large. The incident was reported to police around 12:05 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6. It occurred at a home in the 7500 block of Wedgewood Drive. The victim, who was only identified as a 26-year-old man, was in an argument with Miguel Armando Ruiz-Ramirez, according to the police department. The two men had reached an agreement on the previous night; they arranged for Ruiz-Ramirez to hold the victim's bike at the home, the police report said. Authorities believe the argument began when the tried to retrieve his bike. The argument then became physical. "At one point, the accused retrieved a large knife and struck the victim several times causing a severe laceration to the victim's arm," the police department said. Still, the confrontation did not end after the knife attack. Officers claimed "the accused also placed the victim in a chokehold before demanding the victim's property." Eventually, the victim was able to escape and run to his home to call the police. While the victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, officers searched for Ruiz-Ramirez. They did not locate him initially. After their investigation, detectives with the police department obtained warrants for Ruiz-Ramirez's arrest. They still have not located him. Ruiz-Ramirez is described as a Hispanic man who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, police said.
