Car Show To Raise Money For Wallin Oaks PTA, Event Funds

PLAINFIELD, IL — Car enthusiasts have another opportunity to showcase their vintage and show-worthy cars at the Wallin Oaks Cruise Night Aug. 20. The cruise night will take place at the new elementary school, at 15410 S. Wallin Drive, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. that Friday. Cars should arrive at the school to begin setting up at 5 p.m. Prizes will also be awarded to cars at the event. There's a $10 entry fee required for each car, which will go toward Wallin Oaks' Parent Teacher Association's budget. Being a new school, Wallin Oaks Principal Stacey DiBitetto said there are some things that have yet to be established, and the money raised at the event will go toward buying supplies and materials for future school events hosted by the organization. Some of the funds would also go toward buying various items needed in the school, including a wheelchair in the nurse's office and roll paper for teachers, according to DiBitetto.
