CONCORD, NH — This great weekend is about to come to an end. We know you have all been out and about, enjoying it. So here is everything you missed in the weekend edition — all kinds of stuff going on in New Hampshire right now. Guv Signs Craft Brewers Bill Gov. Chris Sununu signed SB 125, which eases a number of regulations against craft and microbrewers in the state. According to NHPR, nearly 5,000 people work in the industry — which has grown to $500 million. Submitted by Gov. Chris Sununu's Office Jamestown Canyon Virus Death A person from Dublin who died recently has tested positive for the Jamestown Canyon Virus, a mosquito illness. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has elevated the risk levels to Dublin and a number of other communities, including Harrisville, Jaffrey, Marlborough, and Peterborough. "Jamestown Canyon Virus and the other mosquito-borne infections can cause serious illness," Dr. Benjamin Chan, state epidemiologist, said. "As summer progresses into fall, the risk from mosquito-transmitted infections is expected to increase. So residents and visitors to New Hampshire should take precautions to avoid mosquito bites, especially as people are encouraged to spend more time outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic." Powerball Drawn 3 Times A Week Beginning Aug. 23, the Powerball lottery game will go to a third drawing a week. Drawings for one of the most popular lottery games will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. "We are thrilled to offer this new weekly Powerball drawing to our players, as they will soon have more chances to win big than ever before," Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. "With our Powerball sales continuing to build momentum, this third drawing will allow us to meet consumer demand, while providing bigger and better jackpots and prizes, all while maximizing revenue for education in New Hampshire. We cannot contain our excitement much longer — Aug. 23 cannot come soon enough!" Neither odds nor prizes will change. The top 10 Powerball jackpots, including two that were won by Granite Staters, have ranged from $487 million to $1.59 billion. Non-Traditional Construction Could Assist With Housing Crunch Homes built in factories and put together in pieces are becoming a popular option, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
