CONCORD, NH — It was another beautiful day in New Hampshire on Monday. Here is everything going on in the Granite State right now. NH: A Great Place To Have A Baby WalletHub.com has a new study out showing just how great a place to live New Hampshire is — especially if you want to have a child. The company compiled the best and worst states to bring a baby into the world and place NH in 4th place. The state placed second in four categories — including cesarean delivers, mortality rates, and conventional hospital deliver charges. However, it fell short on parental-leave, placing average when compared to other states, and also midwives and OBGYNs per capita. The full study is linked above. Special House Meeting On School COVID-19 Masks? Maybe … state Rep. Tim Baxter (R-Seabrook), who is also running for Congress, said he had about 40 other state representatives requesting a special session to deal with face coverings and masks in schools. "Let me be clear: the data shows us that kids do not need to wear masks," he said. "Period. It's time for rational thought leaders to go on offense and stop pandering to the virtue signaling anti-science crowd." It is unknown yet, at post time, if a special session will be called to address the issue. Also, according to NHPR, UNH is requiring masks in classrooms and in indoor group settings, too. Visiting Mass. Cop Helps With OD In NH A quick tip of the hat to Officer JJ Jones, a youth resource officer from the Cambridge Police Department, who assisted with a overdose case at a Lincoln hotel during the weekend. The department posted a note about the incident on Facebook. Come back any time, Officer Jones, and thank you for your service ... even on a day off! 'River Dave' Grateful For The Support WMUR-TV has a follow-up with "River Dave" Lidstone who said he was really "grateful and overwhelmed" by the support he has received from Granite Staters and Americans, too, after the cabin he was living in burned to the ground. Twenty-two homes sold for $1 million or more. Here are all of the posts published on Patch in New Hampshire during the past 24 hours. Thank you for reading!
