MANHATTAN, IL — The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday, with temperatures feeling like close to 110 degrees with the heat index in some areas.
According to the Will County Emergency Management Agency, The Village of Manhattan will offer the Manhattan Community Meeting Room at Village Hall, 260 Market Place, as a cooling center for those that need an escape from the dangerous heat.
The cooling center will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Masks are required inside the building.
