CREST HILL, IL — While much of this summer's attention has been focused on the mysterious disappearance of Pizzas by Marchelloni employee Wendy Gessing, last November's homicide inside the Crest Hill Inn still remains unsolved at the Crest Hill Police Department. Around 9 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2020, Crest Hill police were summoned to one of the motel rooms at the Crest Hill Inn, 2109 Plainfield Road. There, police found 30-year-old Joliet resident Jakkar Green-Hosey dead. He was the victim of a single stab wound, Joliet Patch previously reported. Crest Hill police notified Patch last year that Hosey also showed signs of being injured. As far as the Crest Hill Police Department is concerned, the deadly stabbing at the Crest Hill Inn isn't a case of who did it. Crest Hill police quickly identified 22-year-old Taja Davis as their person of interest. However, at no point during the past 10 months have the Crest Hill Police Department been able to locate her. Consequently, no arrests have been made in connection with Hosey's homicide. At the time of the homicide, Crest Hill Police announced they were seeking information on the whereabouts on Davis, whose last known address was 1515 E. 72nd Street, Chicago, in connection with Green-Hosey's death. Although Crest Hill police identified Davis as being a Chicago resident, documents from the Will County Courthouse indicate that Davis was considered a Joliet resident, with ties to an address in the 1200 block of Fairchild Avenue. As of Aug. 9, Davis remains free, and her whereabouts are unknown, although court records indicate that she may have fled the scene of the Crest Hill homicide and went to Indiana. Taja Davis, a Joliet resident, has been identified as the person of interest in the Nov. 13, 2020, fatal stabbing at the Crest Hill Inn. File mugshot via Will County Jail Joliet Patch's review of Will County court records indicates that Davis was on probation in connection with her 2019 criminal convictions involving aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, manufacture and delivery of cocaine, possession of controlled substances as well as leaving the state of Illinois without permission, in violation of probation. Back on June 9, 2020, which was five months before Hosey was slain, Davis was sentenced to 30 months of probation after having pleaded guilty to her charges involving aggravated battery, dealing cocaine and possession of drugs. "As a condition of defendant's probation, defendant was ordered to not leave the state without the consent of the court ... the defendant left the state and traveled to Indiana on November 13, 2020," Will County court records show. Nov. 13 was the date that Hosey was fatally stabbed at the Crest Hill Inn. As of Aug. 9, Davis has not been charged in Will County in connection with Hosey's homicide.
