MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Crime in Manhattan Beach is about the same as last week during the period from July 29-Aug 28, according to a crime report released by the Manhattan Beach Police Department. The report lists 25 incidents with a significant increase in overall thefts. Assault There were three incidents of assault reported between 7/30-8/1 occurring on the 1700 block of Rosecrans Ave, the 3600 block of Oak Ave, and the 1100 block of Manhattan Ave. BurglaryThere were four reports of both commercial, residential, and vehicle burglary between 7/29-8/2, including a car window smashed on the 200 block of Ingleside Dr, and a bicycle stolen from an open garage from a home on the 2300 block of Alma Ave. Petty Theft There were three reports between 7/29 and 8/2, including two stolen wallets from vehicles on the 2700 block of Sepulveda Blvd and the 1500 block of Magnolia Ave. Grand Theft There were seven reports, including three stolen bicycles, and an attempted catalytic converter theft from the 1600 block of 9th St. Grand Theft Auto Two reports of grand theft auto occurred on the 1300 block of Rosecrans Ave and the 800 block of Manhattan Ave between 7/29 and 7/31. VandalismA vehicle was damaged on 8/1/21 at 6th St and N Ardmore Ave.
