LOS GATOS, CA — A woman was recorded stealing a dog in front of a Safeway in Los Gatos on Friday afternoon and police are asking for the public's help. The dog, a two-year-old miniature Australian shepherd named Bowie, was tied up in front of the Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue when he was taken by the woman. She was described by police as a middle-aged Caucasion female wearing "reddish shorts, a tan blousy shirt, with long reddish hair." She left with Bowie on his leash and drove away in a black Mercedes Benz SUV, southbound on Santa Cruz Avenue and then east onto Highway 9, according to police. ****HELP NEEDED!**** Around 4:05 pm on Friday Aug 6, a female suspect was recorded taking a miniature Australian Shepard named "Bowie" that was tied up in front of the N Santa Cruz Safeway.
