ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police received at least three reports of men entering unlocked cars early Saturday morning on a street in a local neighborhood.
About 7:30 a.m., police received a call from a man in the 500 block of South Parkview Avenue. The resident saw four men enter unlocked cars. Then, they got into a black Dodge Durango, trying to strike the man as they left the area, according to a police report. The Durango was reported stolen in another town, police said.
The Durango was last seen headed north on Parkside Avenue toward St. Charles Road. In the 400 block of South Parkview, two residents told police they saw suspects enter unlocked vehicles parked in driveways. In all the cases, the owners were notified, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
