ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a park fight, stolen watches, fraud by a customer, a wayward semi-truck driver, a car burglary and thefts. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Park fight Police were called to a fight about 6 p.m. Friday at Wilder Park, 175 S. Prospect Ave. Officers saw four youths running away in different directions. Stolen watches Three watches were stolen from a house between July 1 and Aug. 5 in the 500 block of West Crockett Avenue. The victim said he had no information on a suspect and that he has had numerous people at his house within the last month. Fraud by a customer Someone bought a 2017 white Lincoln MKZ using a fictitious Social Security number and driver's license about 11 a.m. July 11 at Elmhurst Toyota, 440 W. Lake St. The vehicle was subsequently recovered in Chicago with extensive accident damage. An investigation is pending. Shoplifting A man stole alcohol about 5 p.m. Saturday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. He left the area in a black Oldsmobile. He was described as black and wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue pants, a white face mask and glasses. The case is pending an investigation. Off the beaten path A semi-truck was seen driving over the parkway grass and newly paved sidewalk at 5 p.m. Thursday near Melrose and Willow. Tire marks were seen in the grassy area. Fugitive drivers An officer saw a Nissan Maxima, which was reported stolen in Chicago, about 12:15 a.m. Friday at Fair and St. Charles. The officer tried to pull over the car, but the driver sped away west on St. Charles. The car was later recovered unoccupied in Lombard. An officer tried to stop an Audi with an expired registration about 12:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles and Poplar. The driver sped away, last seen headed east on St. Charles toward Interstate 290. Car burglary Police were called about 4:30 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of South Cedar Avenue when a resident saw someone trying to enter a parked car on the street. The suspect entered a silver sedan and drove away, heading north on Cedar. The car's owner was notified and found nothing missing inside. Thefts A wallet was stolen between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday from an unsecured locker at FFC fitness center, 140 N. Addison Ave. An unlocked girl's bicycle was stolen about 12:15 a.m. Saturday from the side of a house in the 500 block of Cedar Avenue. Not stolen after all A resident in the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue informed police Sunday that his car was stolen from his driveway. He said it was locked and that he still had the key. Upon further investigation, the owner stated that he forgot his car was parked at the doctor's office.
