All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Aug. 6: Criminal mischief (fourth-degree) was reported on Evergreen Avenue in Smithtown from Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. Someone broke the rear taillight of a vehicle parked outside of a home sometime overnight, police said.Aug. 5: Criminal mischief (second-degree) was reported on Huber Place in St. James at 1 a.m. A person fired a weapon and damaged the front glass door and siding of a home, police said. A Chevrolet parked in the driveway was also scratched and a tire was slashed, police said.Aug. 5: Criminal mischief (third-degree) was reported on Huber Place in St. James at 1 a.m. A person scratched a Honda parked at a home, police said.Aug. 3: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Long Street in Lake Grove from Aug. 2 at 6:35 a.m. Someone entered a home through an unlocked back door and stole medication, a postal scale, and cash, police said.
