HOOVER, AL — After some speculation that Hoover City Schools would not require face masks for the coming school year, the Board of Education voted Friday to require masks for staff and students for the first 30 days of the school year, according to the Hoover Sun. Craig Kelley, Kermit Kendrick and Amy Mudano voted in favor of the universal mask mandate, while board President Amy Tosney voted against it. The policy requires all students, staff and visitors to wear masks indoors from Aug. 10 through Sept. 20. Parents on both sides of the mask issue were present to voice their opinions on the matter.
