95% of wild fires are started by humans, droughts and low humidity makes things a lot worst. As population grows in fire prone areas so does fires. Logging was extensive until the 1970's, lots of clear cutting. It was ugly and badly damaged the environment but was great for controlling fires. Remember Smoky the bear public commercials. Now we just throw up our hands and say it's climate change.
