Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Trainee) Temp to Hire $21/hr. Full Time 1st shift Overtime as needed   Job Summary Trains on and assists with major and minor repairs on heavy equipment, over the road equipment, and vehicles under the guidance of the Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic.   Essential Functions Trains to diagnose problems and assists in repairs on heavy equipment major & minor components such as engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, cylinders, and suspensions Trains to diagnose problems and assists in repairs on over-the-road equipment such as diesel-powered trucks, including pneumatic, dump and flatbed trailers. Trains in diagnosing and making repairs on A/C systems and electrical systems. Basic repairs using welding skills: Mig, Tig and Stick. Assists with repairs to light truck and automotive equipment. Travels to remote job locations to perform repairs as needed. Qualifications Two years of auto tech training or minimum one year of experience repairing heavy equipment preferred ASE Certification(s) for heavy and/or medium trucks preferred.
