Burke Construction's Concrete Division is looking to immediately hire experienced concrete finishers. We do high quality, high-end work and we're looking for the right people to round out our team. You must have a clean appearance and polite behavior, the ability to interact positively with clients, and an eye for detail, and a passion for concrete work. PRIDE IN YOUR WORK IS A MUST! ***This position will not only provide stable employment, but also an opportunity for growth and advancement as you demonstrate your value and craftsmanship to the company.*** Qualified candidates must have verifiable experience smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. You should know how to align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints. A valid driver's license is required, with an increased if you have a CDL. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: * Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level. * Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, homes, and parking lots. * Arrange the concrete forms. * Spread concrete. * Prepare surfaces. * Rub cement in with sponge-rubber float or burlap. * Level it using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over. * Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set. * Smooth high spots and fill depressions. * Make concrete beams, columns, and panels. * Wash away excess concrete. * Finish corners by hand. * Apply latex and epoxy to floors. * Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets. * Use groovers and hand trowels to spread concrete. * Halt concrete pouring if weather looks bad. * Prepare the base. * Cut pavers. * Install masonry according to specifications. * Pour sand in as filler. * Use chemical additives to speed up drying process if necessary.
