Description
NYULMC is seeking healthy volunteers ages 18-85 with no history/diagnosis of brain disorders to
participate in a voluntary IRB-approved MRI research study at NYU’s Center for Biomedical Imaging
located in the midtown Manhattan.
The proposed study will evaluate blood vessel changes in the brain and whether this information could
be used in the future to treat brain disorders. This research study does not aim to treat or cure any
disorder at time of participation.
Your participation involves 1 visit that consists of a 1 hour MRI of the brain with contrast (dye). You will
be compensated for your participation.
You will not be eligible if:
you have any metal or implants in your body (e.g., IUDs, breast implants, or irremovable
piercings)
you have had a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, dementia, serious cardiovascular illnesses, or
serious metabolic diseases
you have a history of iron-overload diseases such as hemochromatosis or thalassemia
you have a history of cirrhosis
you have had a blood transfusion or major surgery within the last two months
BMI >30
you are not aged 18-85
