Hi: We’re an earthworm farm in Kyle, TX that breeds and grows “red wiggler” worms. These worms are used for home composting and their by-product helps plants, crops, and lawns grow in a faster, more sustainable manner. We sell the worms - along with worm bins, worm castings, and worm farm starter kits - on the internet via an ecommerce site at www.brotherswormfarm.com. We’re seeking 1-2 hard-working, curious people to support day-to-day activities at the “farm” (a 3,000 square foot commercial warehouse). This role is a great fit for anyone curious about earthworms, biology/science, soil health, or the environment. No experience is necessary though, we'll teach you everything you need to be successful in this role! You'll have the opportunity to work and learn all areas of our business, with the primary responsibilities including: * Supporting all breeding activities (feeding, watering, harvesting, etc) * Feedstock, bedding, and bin prep * General day-to-day care for the worms, including monitoring, troubleshooting, etc. * Support for package/shipping activities This role does require hands-on work (e.g., light lifting, being on your feet, etc) and a willingness to get your hands dirty :). Other details include: Location: Kyle, TX Starting Compensation: $12/hour Hours: Flexible. 10-20 hours per week or full-time hours are available.
