Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. (NNI), a Community Development Corporation, is seeking to fill the position of Home Repair Associate. About NNI: NNI is a Non Profit Corporation providing Home Repair and Construction Services and Social Services to multiple municipalities in predominantly Clay and Platte counties. Located at 5340 NE Chouteau Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64119. In order to expand services and better serve the Northland area NNI has a new job position. Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with the delivery of NNI’s home repair programs, client eligibility, home inspections, work scope preparation, contractor bid process, contractor work oversight, managing change orders, and approval of completed home repairs. Responsible for understanding grant requirements and following those requirements in the administration of home repair programs, as well as applicable City and Federal regulations. Job Duties: • Responsible for managing home repair projects, including client and contractor communications and issue resolution where appropriate. • Performing home inspections, writing work scopes, soliciting bids, etc. • Gather client information to verify program eligibility; complete calculations and file maintenance to prove client eligibility. Obtain proper approvals. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: • Must demonstrate a history of experience/knowledge with several construction trades related to single family home rehabilitation projects and new single family housing construction. • Must be able to write detailed specifications for scopes of work to be completed using clear, concise and technically correct language in short, easy to understand sentences. • Must be able to assign specific line item cost estimates to each construction recommendation using estimating software or specifications database. • Excellent organization skills, high attention to detail and respect for the confidentiality of information in their care. • Valid Missouri Driver’s License. • Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance meeting or exceeding the minimum coverage required by the State of Missouri. • Effectively use computer software to input data, compile and send communications. Working Conditions: Candidate must be able to: • Walk without assistance over uneven ground and stand for up to 60 minutes at a time • Climb stairs and ladders and crawl unassisted to enter buildings to inspect upper floors and crawl spaces of buildings • Have normal vision and hearing, including as corrected • Lift up to 20 pounds • Sit for extended periods of time while preparing reports etc. • Handle work conditions that are subject to extremes due to the nature of the work being conducted indoors and outdoors during all seasons throughout the year. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Upon completion of a 90 probation period, vacation, sick leave, medical stipend, and other benefits will be included. Please respond with resume.
