An increasing number of dog ads on CL are phishing scams, where they want your email and/or phone number to sell. Due to the shortage of dogs, you should be skeptical of anyone selling desirable pet breeds - Goldens, doodles, Labs, Yorkies, etc. To look out for - - no photo - photo looks weirdly generic, sideways, out of focus, or doesn't fit ad (ad is for Yorkie, photo is of a lab) - awkward language - wording of ad makes no sense, repeatedly changes number/breed/gender of dogs available
