The Clatskanie Farmers Market invites you to our Garlic Festival after hours event, an outdoor film screening in Checkmate Park! Social hour begins at 7:30pm and the film promptly at 8:30pm, with a screen time of 87 minutes. Seating will be provided. Bring warm clothing and/or snuggly blankets! Kiss the Ground reveals that, by regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create abundant food supplies. Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, the film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle. This movie is positioned to catalyze a movement to accomplish the impossible – to solve humanity’s greatest challenge, to balance the climate and secure our species future." We will be serving organic hard cider and/or wine, The Wild Locals Jun, Tilthworks fresh baked foccacia bread, and spreads from The Wild Locals. All food & beverage complimentary with your ticket purchase. The Clatskanie Farmers Market will be accepting donations at this event. As a non-profit organization we depend on fundraising/donations to sustain the important work we do in supporting our local farmers, makers, & artisans. In supporting local organic agriculture we are also supporting our soil health, which is what this night is all about!
