An entertaining and educational romp through European singing styles and vocal musicianship from the mid-1600s to the early 20th century Karin and Jessica invite you to a special collaboration which explores the role of the human voice in the evolution of Western European classical music over the centuries. Join mezzo-soprano Karin Wilcox and pianist Jessica Nilles Kressin for a lively evening as they share their joy making music. This entertaining and educational musical curation will guide you through the tradition of classical singing in Western Europe, starting with Heinrich Schütz (1615-1672) and ending with Richard Strauss (1864-1949). Enjoy an overview of a few centuries of classical singing in the space of roughly an hour. This bite-sized classical music sampler might just be the perfect way to break your fast (see what we did there?) from live classical music these past 16 months. We hope to see you there!
