#HikeUnited21 is coming to Moraga! Come celebrate the outdoors and each other.
Hike United is a nationwide event organized by the In Solidarity Project, Women Who Hike, The Outdoor Advocacy Project, and Latio Outdoors.
The concept is simple: come together during August on any trail, for any distance, in any group to promote conversations, connection, and inclusion in outdoor spaces.
Moraga parents, staff, and administrators will be joining in a hike starting at the Valle Vista Staging Area off of Canyon in Moraga.
What to expect: a mostly flat 2mi loop with the exception of one steep incline and one shorter steep downhill. Across the open spaces and shaded areas, Rimer Creek trail has gorgeous views and animals to see along the way including birds, horses, deer, and turkeys.
Wear/ bring: spf, hat, hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers, water, snacks for kids as desired, layers (the trail has sections of shade + sun).
No dogs please + strollers are not recommended for this trail.
We hope you can join us! If you can't but still want to get involved in #HikeUnited21, check out other upcoming hikes here.
“Nature can be a bridge to healing, conversation and understanding,” said Teresa Baker, founder of the In Solidarity Project. “That is the hope we have for this hiking campaign. Bringing together the outdoor community to show a collective commitment of unity for the protection of our planet and one another.”
