Car Crashes Into Waffle House In Tampa, Injuring 5 People

TAMPA, FL — Multiple people were injured Sunday when a pickup truck careened into a Waffle House restaurant in Tampa, authorities said. Tampa Fire Rescue responded at 2:10 p.m. Sunday to reports of a vehicle into a building at Waffle House, 3009 West Columbus Drive. Fire personnel arrived to find a pickup truck hit the building, seriously injuring one adult and one child. The adult and child were rushed to hospitals for treatment of traumatic injuries, fire officials said. Three other people suffered minor injuries, fire officials said. It was not immediately clear whether those injured were inside the restaurant or outside. Specific ages of the victims were not immediately released Sunday afternoon.
