Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: Robert Ringwald, the man that organized the first Sacramento Jazz Festival in 1974, has died at age 80. In 2012, Ringwald was honored by the festival as "The Emperor of Jazz." Born in Roseville, Ringwald (Molly Ringwald's father) lost his vision at an early age, but loved to play the piano. By age 17 he was passing for an adult and playing in nightclubs as a professional musician, an occupation he held for six decades. A memorial service is pending. (Washington Post)The Sacramento Kings acquired 10-year veteran center Tristan Thompson from the Boston Celtics as part of a three-team trade. Thompson, 30, has averaged 9.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his career, including nine seasons with Cleveland. (KCRA3) A Folsom man has won Angler of the Year in the Wild West series. Luke Johns, 22, is the youngest ever to win the Wild West Angler of the Year. As only his second season fishing in the series, he's set the bar pretty high for next year. Johns is a 2017 graduate of Vista del Lago, where he started the school's fishing club in 2013. (Goldcountrymedia.com)Bad air quality due to smoke from the Dixie Fire closed many outdoor venues in Folsom over the weekend. The Folsom Zoo was closed, as was the train and the aquatic center. Though many didn't smell the smoke, the air quality indicator was at "Moderate" forcing the closure of these venues. With masks required indoors and outdoor venues closed, many folks were forced to just stay home this weekend and hope for better air soon. (KCRA3)The person killed at the 6400 block of Verner Avenue in Sacramento County on Thursday night has been identified. A coroner identified the victim as 40-year-old David Reggie, of Citrus Heights. Officials are characterizing the death as a homicide, but no suspect or motive have been announced. (CBS Sacramento) Monday's events in Sacramento Always wanted to learn how to butcher a hog?
