LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who was throwing construction materials from atop a five-story building under construction near USC Sunday vanished into the construction site and police weren't able to find him, authorities said. The incident took place at about 11:40 a.m. at 1390 W. Adams Blvd. in the University Park area, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said. The man dropped out of sight in the construction area, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers searched the area but didn't find the man, he said. Police shut down one or more lanes near the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Vermont Avenue during the incident, Humphrey said. The LAFD was called to the scene because it was considered a behavioral emergency, Humphrey added. —City News Service
