A “prayer event” held at a park in downtown Portland on Saturday was attacked by a group of left-wing activists who threw objects at attendees and assaulted them with pepper spray, the conservative Post Millennial reported. Organizers announced the event last month, saying it would feature controversial Canadian preacher Artur Pawlowski. The Calgary pastor has made headlines for his vocal opposition and resistance to lockdown measures that have shuttered churches in the Canadian city. Footage taken at the event shows black-clad Antifa members throwing projectiles at the event’s attendees, as some of the masked activists shouted “No hate speech.” “They threw a bomb already. We’ve got kids here,” the narrator of the video says. And so when I see premeditated attacks on Christian groups, and blatant attempts to provoke infighting, I am immediately suspicious: The activists eventually march up to the stage. One Antifa member takes the microphone, announcing: “All cops are bastards. In the name of Jesus, Amen.” The group of left-wingers then kick and destroy the sound equipment. One black-clad individual can be seen carrying a speaker to the nearby Willamette River, apparently so that they could toss it into the water. That was a classic price tag attack - just sayin'. Y'all need to wake up and smell the coffee. One of those guys' dads probably owns the audio shop you bought your sound equipment at, and he's the same guy who will be selling you your next PA, too - him, or a relative. Some serious thought needs to be given to capturing and de-masking these individuals. Essentially, you need to organize your own team. You need reserves, staged offsite. You need communications that are immediate. Scaling up to run an ops center - with communications, incident tracking, maps, vehicle identification, intelligence gathering - would be the next step. Line-of-sight communications should be via radio. Assume the other team is doing the same. If you are convinced that the police will not respond then that means the police will not respond, if you respond, in kind, with your own team. The prayer incident would have been a perfect opportunity to execute a pincer movement and force all of the Antifa under the bridge where they could be captured. Self-defense and enforcement mechanisms are necessary. Because Antifa likes to throw things it would not be unreasonable to carry bats, with which to bat things away; but, make sure you have baseballs, and gloves, and hats, too. Keep it kosher. I think weighted nets would be the best solution. Net them, mob them, swarm them, and then keep the rest of the mob from taking those whom you have arrested, away from you. Go for the masks. Remove their masks! That is their weak spot. They are wearing masks for a reason. Removing their mask is not assault. It is theft, at worst, but your assailant would have to identify themselves to the police to press charges, and that's not going to happen. If you capture a mask, bag it. It is chock full of DNA and is evidence. Save it. Label it. Secure it from theft. Keep it dry. Alternatively... a classic attack involves two people rushing from the front while a third person kneels, behind. Practice this a few times with two other people. It's easy. Three angry girls can take out one threatening asshole, easily. Train a self-defense force. Teach people to work together to defeat superior force, without weapons. Don't forget to talk about what to do after you get the person down! Don't take this lying down. Food for thought.
