Want to expand as a guitarist and make thorough sense of the instrument through more abstract theory rather than memorizing an endless avalanche of shapes and diagrams? I am offering in-person and zoom or pre-recorded lessons and can travel to you. I have primarily studied Jazz, Rock, and Spanish/Classical styles, lending a wide breadth of knowledge of formal theory and technique, both in fingerstlye and picking, as well as how to apply these fundamentals in songwriting and improvisation. I greatly enjoy catering to my students' interests and slowly applying the technical elements. With a great deal of experience in songwriting and composition, I find that teaching the skills necessary to create original music can be incomparably rewarding. I can offer live video lessons, as well as pre-recorded lessons if you would prefer. I am always sure to take notes and write information during the lesson to help the student retain the information and also am sure to give the student enough direction in their practice to keep them engaged and occupied between lessons. If my students are interested in using resources to continue actively learning between lessons, although I do not teach through a specific system, I find it sometimes helpful to search for affordable books and apps catered to them.
