Homeless,... wow

Wow! This is my first time being homeless. I thought it would be easier. I remember driving/walking past the homeless afraid to look or talk to them. Im sure there are some dangerous folks out there, ran into a few. Anyway, Im a SWM in my 50's, recently discharged from Arlington Memorial with pneumonia. Im trying to get better. At the last hotel i stayed at i took a VIA taxi to a grocery store and when i got back, the Van took off with my backpack with all my money, valuables and medication. Anyway, if anyone out there has any work for me to do I'd sure be greatful. Thanks!
