The brain/nervous system are intimately connected, which can impact our decisions and relationships. Come learn practical self-care skills. Welcome. In this workshop you will learn:-Helpful right-and left-brained (bilateral) skills which can help integrate our experiences. -Guidance to live within the “Window of Tolerance.” Knowledge about natural nervous system responses can help us regulate our body. -Tips for staying in the “green zone.” The green zone offers right- and left-brain balance, which can help us think clearly and articulate our wants and needs. #bethegreen. -Mindfulness activities to create more balance in daily life. -Body awareness techniques to become curious about emotions. These skills can help with emotional regulation and decrease anxiety. -Ways to stimulate an area of the brain called the corpus callosum, a “highway” in the middle of the brain which connects both hemispheres. Notes: This workshop is for anyone curious about mental health and wellness. Please arrive ten minutes prior to get settled into the space. This is an in-person workshop held in an open air space. Masks are encouraged prior to seating and when not six feet apart. About Jill: Jill Baumgartner, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker. She studied Human Development and Family Studies, with a psychology minor, at The Pennsylvania State University. She earned a Master of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh with a certificate in children, youth, and families. Jill completed her clinical licensure practicing intensive, in-home family therapy in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Jill delivers treatment to children, teenagers, adults, and families. She uses a trauma-informed care approach and is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing through the EMDR Institute. She uses a clinical framework which emphasizes the role of healing the limbic system, by integrating nervous system responses and engaging both brain hemispheres. Along with her mental health experience, Jill has completed several holistic trainings including a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, a 100-hour Kundalini Yoga Self-Mastery Program, and Reiki attunements. She believes in healing the mind, body, and spirit with different modalities to create change. She is passionate about helping others.
