Loveable Goldador Needs New Home

Description

We are moving out of state in less than a month and our handsome Golden Retriever/Labrador mix ("Goldador") needs a new home. We thought we would be able to take him with us, but we are moving cross country and our new circumstances make us unable to have a dog. It is heartbreaking to say good-bye to him. "Bear" is a very large neutered male. I don't have a way to weigh him, but he is big and he is strong. He is as loveable with his humans as they come. He has grown up with children and been dressed up, pulled around, had flower crowns and silk scarves on his head, worn Mickey Mouse ears and sunglasses...and he has never complained. His favorite place is at my feet with his head resting on my foot. He smiles when you scratch his belly (see the last picture). He is not perfect though, and as such he would need a home suitable to him. For the right family, he would be a wonderful addition. His devotion to his humans is one of pure love. His new home would ideally allow him to be inside and with his people. He has been a house dog for all of his 6 years of life. He is well behaved in the house and is crate trained. He sleeps in his crate at night and has no problem taking a nap there in the afternoon. He is completely house trained and will tell you when he needs to go out, when he is thirsty, or when someone is at the door. He is mellow and easy going in the house. Unfortunately, he is dog aggressive. He was attacked by our neighbor's dog when he was young and although he grew up with my daughter's dog, I would never recommend he be with other dogs. He is just too big and too "alpha" to make it work. He is not safe with chickens or cats. He would need a secure yard for these reasons. He LOVES to play ball. He LOVES water. He does well on a leash, but will pull if he sees a creature that will run. Please let us know if Bear might be a good fit for your family. Rehoming fee is negotiable for the right situation. He will come with his crate.
