We have a unique opportunity for you to join our team at a high-end equestrian center on Bainbridge Island. The Farm Operations Tech will work closely with our Management Team and will encompass all aspects of our farm operations. In addition to daily chores such as stall cleaning, turnout, blanket changes, feeding, and general barn chores, this position will also be responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of farm facilities, equipment, and property. Our ideal candidate is looking for a long-term position, and we are open to either part-time or full-time to fit your schedule. Requirements: - Previous experience working in a professional farm setting - Basic horse knowledge and excellent horse handling skills - Reliable transportation is a must - Motivated, hard worker with good communication skills - NO smoking, alcohol, drugs - Background check REQUIRED - Must be 21 y/o and have necessary documentation - Willingness and ability to perform physical work, including lifting 50lbs farm supplies - Commitment to working in an outdoor environment during all types of weather - Must have reliable phone and email access - Must be flexible, reliable, and dependable - Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly - Adhere to farm safety policies, and current COVID-19 regulations Farm Hand responsibilities include: - Mowing, trimming, weeding - Pasture maintenance (fence repair, fertilizing, etc) - Lawn & arena irrigation - Tractor & equipment upkeep - General Handyman projects - Paddock & turnout maintenance Stall Tech chores include: - Cleaning stalls and working around horses - Cleaning paddocks (picking up manure and raking) - Cleaning turnout areas (picking up manure, raking, cleaning & sweeping sheds) - Picking up manure in pastures - Cleaning water troughs & mangers - Regular barn chores (sweeping, cleaning, dusting, etc.) - Horse handling (haltering, leading, blanketing etc.) Barn operating hours are 8:00am-6:00pm, and the farm is open 365 days/year. This position will sometimes be required to work designated holidays. Salary: $20-25/hr DOE
