SILVER SPRING, MD — A gymnast has accused her former coach of sexually abusing her while she was a minor, according to Montgomery County court records. The coach, Mark Yellock, coached at Silver Stars Gymnastics and Dynamite Gymnastics in Montgomery County. The gyms said that they had no knowledge of the abuse have been cooperating in the investigating, which began in August 2020 when the victim came forward, said Montgomery County Police. Yellock, 40, was arrested on July 1 charged with the sexual abuse of a minor, a sex offense in the second degree, and four counts of a sex offense in the third degree, according to court records. In another court filing on the same day, Yellock is charged with another count of sexual abuse of a minor and a sex offense in the third degree. There is no attorney currently listed for Yellock. A trial date has been tentatively set for early 2020. Yellock's current address is listed as Boyds, MD in the court records.
