STAMFORD, CT — Police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob a bank in Stamford on Thursday afternoon. According to Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department, a man walked into the People's United Bank in the Stop & Shop grocery store located at 1937 W. Main St. around 12:15 p.m. and threatened tellers with a syringe, claiming he had AIDS. "He attempted to rob the bank, and at some point he got spooked and fled the bank on foot without any proceeds," Conklin said. Conklin described the man as being 6-foot, wearing a dark shirt, khaki colored shorts, with a white durag on his head and dreadlocks underneath.
