NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course in Monroe: 8 Union Hill Rd, Monroe Twp 08831 This course is perfect for first-time shooters who want to know anything and everything about a hand gun. All action types, caliber sizes and proper shooting techniques are covered in this class. Satisfies requirements for obtaining a Non-Resident Concealed Carry Permit from Florida, Virginia, Connecticut and other states. Law enforcement will also be on site to conduct finger prints for Florida and other Non-Resident carry permits. August is Peach Month in New Jersey and Terhune Orchards in Princeton will host their Just Peachy Festival this Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Celebrate Jersey Fresh and one of our state's favorite fruits by joining us for our annual Just Peachy Festival on August 7 & 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The weekend will be filled with plenty of activities for kids, including pony rides, games and barnyard fun. Kids can enjoy pony rides, rubber duck races, interactive, hands-on fun in the Discovery Barn, a scavenger hunt and old-fashioned games. Pick Your Own Peaches! Available Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm. Dwarf trees make it easy for all to reach! Our peach orchard is located across the street from the farm store at 330 Cold Soil Road. Park at the orchard. Please do not walk across the street. Check in at the green tent. No admission fee to peach orchard. Enjoy live music each day noon-4pm. Stone Hearth plays on Saturday, and Stoneybrook Bluegrass Band is here on Sunday. Pam Mount's popular Canning & Freezing class will kick off the demonstrations on Saturday August 7 at 10:30am. Learn her secrets for preserving peaches and other fruits and vegetables at their peak, and get answers to your canning and freezing questions. Peaches, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, tomatoes and corn are easy to freeze or can at the height of their freshness. Follow Pam's easy directions and you'll have a delicious reminder of your Terhune visit to enjoy during the cold winter months. Eyes of the Wild, a traveling zoo will present two shows a day, at 12:45pm and 2pm, on Saturday and Sunday in the Big Barn. This educational program with live animals will mesmerize toddlers through grownups. Admission fee $10, children under 3 are free.
