SANTA MONICA, CA — A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in Santa Monica. The pedestrian-involved collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Main Street and Ashland Avenue. Rescue crews rushed the woman to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, the Santa Monica Police Department said in a statement. It was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor as the investigation was ongoing.
