Press release from TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce: August 05, 2021 Pottstown, PA The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to introduce two new staff members to our mighty team. Alice Funk and Samantha Kern joined the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce just a week apart but have jumped right into their new roles. Alice Funk started July 26, 2021, is originally from New Jersey but with family transfers, has found her way to Pennsylvania, where she's been for the last four years. She will be responsible for planning, managing, and facilitating all events and programs that will help develop and maintain chamber membership, including awards dinners, training and leadership programs, networking and business card exchange events, and ribbon cuttings. She will coordinate with the venues, speakers, caterers, sponsors, committees, and volunteers, as well as determine more detailed aspects. Management of events includes everything from reservations, registration, presentation equipment, follow up communications, and evaluations. She will also be responsible for news releases regarding the programs and events to bring awareness of the Chamber and its value to the community. Alice has a BA degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Rider University as well as a MA degree in Corporate Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her public relations, marketing and event planning career has crossed many business genres, including a water company, a drug and alcohol rehab, a wholesale food cooperative, an insurance agency, an insurance professionals' advocacy group as well as the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce in Keene, New Hampshire. Alice also has owned her own scrapbooking businesses for the past 22 years. She understands the operations of big corporations, small offices, as well as one-man proprietorships and will be an asset to the team. Samantha Kern, originally from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, started her role on August 2, 2021, as the Marketing and Communications Director. She earned a BS in English from Bloomsburg University and went on to receive an MA in Mass Media Arts and Journalism with a Public Relations Certificate from Clarion University. Between her education and previous experience in marketing for a non-profit, we are excited to have her join us. Samantha will design marketing materials, such as flyers, website and social media banners, ads, event programs, and all other electronic or print media to effectively market our organization and programs. In addition, Samantha will be responsible for the monthly editorial content for the Chamber's section of the Rt. 422 Business Advisor, the monthly electronic newsletter to the Chamber Membership, and she will manage all social media outlets for the Chamber.
