Position Summary: The primary function as a Service Technician at GoldKey is to perform repairs on boats, RV’s and vehicles. Service Technician's daily service activities include vessel repair and maintenance, repair and maintenance of shop equipment and vehicles, and repair and upkeep of the GoldKey facilities. The Service Technician should recommend repairs and maintenance, complete work as scheduled, and perform quality control checks on completed work. The Service Technician will also work with the front office to prepare accurate estimates, pull the correct parts, maintain the parts inventory, and find/order parts as needed. Service Technicians also learn to operate the small counterbalance forklifts, and the Wiggins Marina bull, and operate as needed when asked by a supervisor. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated, hardworking individuals with a high degree of integrity and initiative. Teachable and adaptive to change with the ability to balance production and quality is crucial. Being able to work productively as a member of a team and individually is a must. Essential Job Functions: Perform service work on boats: oil change, winterize, summarize, change impeller, ect. Estimate how long repairs will take Locate and order the correct parts needed for repairs/maintenance Tow and Maneuver boats with a small counterbalance forklift Learn to operate our Wiggins Marina Bull Forklift Maintain a safe and clean work environment Perform walk around inspection of boats and complete inspection paperwork Perform quality control and assure customer satisfaction Maintain daily operational equipment in good working condition (forklift and vehicle inspections) Move boats, trailers, and RV’s into and out of the storage area Check boat battery condition, lights, tire condition, air pressure and safety equipment Charge batteries as needed Change trailer light bulbs and light assemblies as needed. Wash, wipe down, vacuum, clean or detail the customers’ boats’ Stock boats with ice as requested by the customer prior to delivery. Check the fuel tank to assure it is 95% full prior to storage/fuel boats Check to assure the batteries are disconnected prior to storage Raise and lower the tower/bimini if necessary Essential Job Requirements (i.e. education, experience, etc.): High School Diploma or GED Clean DMV record and CA driver’s license Must be able to tow and maneuver a boat and trailer Must possess good customer relations skills Attire and conduct must be professional at all times Must possess good mechanical ability: change batteries, oil, etc. Willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime if required Must pass background check and drug testing Must be able to physically lift 50 lbs. and climb in and out of a trailered boat. Must be able to be on your feet for an 8 hour shift. 2 - 3 years experience operating forklifts-OSHA Certified (not required, but a plus)
