Grounds Crew Member Looking for Grounds Keeper to join our agronomic team at Tatnuck Country Club. Tatnuck Country club is a private 9 hole Donald Ross design golf course including other amenities such as paddle and tennis courts, a swimming pool and fine dining. On schedule for major renovations in the club house that includes dining and bar area along with major renovations in restoring a Donald Ross Golf course. Course renovations include complete bunker reconstruction, tree removal, tee additions, green expansions and more. Individual will be a core player on our maintenance team supporting both the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent during renovations and with basic maintenance practices. Our team is directly responsible for providing superior conditions on the golf course, support and maintenance to Club House, Pool, and Racquets. Majority of the duty is golf course maintenance. Individual must have a thriving work ethic, positive attitude and a desire to grow his/her skill set. The Superintendent and Assistant are very hands on, looking for that individual to compliment our motivation and high level of expectations. Groundskeeper Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; do semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate small hand-powered equipment; and occasionally perform work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders and gang mowers. Each groundskeeper may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and does related work as required. Typical functions: The groundskeeper: Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers. Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately. Waters and fertilizes tees, greens and fairways, and under direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals on landscaped areas. Helps in project work; assists in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds tees, greens and fairways. Installs forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor. Employment standards: Knowledge methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area construction/maintenance work. Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment. Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment. Physical strength, stamina and agility. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Possession of a valid driver's license.
