Description
Assists with all repairs and physical maintenance for the community. Ensures preventive maintenance is scheduled and performed on all equipment as needed. • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents. • Documents preventative maintenance program for facility and equipment. • Maintains grounds including outside community repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal. • Maintains inside of community, offices and common areas in community, including carpet and furniture cleaning, window cleaning, painting, removal of trash and upkeep of vinyl. • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. • Maintains and/repairs community equipment; ensures equipment is functioning properly. • Prepares apartments for move-in and completes refurbishing of apartments after move- out, including painting of apartments. • Observes problems, concerns, issues with resident apartments, the community and the grounds and communicates them appropriately. • Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment. • Maintains material safety data sheets. • Maintains working procedures for emergency maintenance. • Coordinates with the local fire department for emergency procedures per state regulations/codes (i.e. fire drills) • Maintains record of resident repairs and work performed. • Performs janitorial tasks and minor repairs. • Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees. • Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position. • Ability to report to the community as needed to handle maintenance emergencies. • Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations. • Ability to work on a ladder. • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned. Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. • Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations. • Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations. • Two to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical repairs, plumbing, and or carpentry. • Must have working knowledge of all necessary local, state and federal safety regulations related to building maintenance and codes. • Ability to work independently. • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned Don't delay, apply today at We are an equal employment opportunity employer (EEO).
