Description
I am an artist based in Newburgh, NY creating large scale abstract watercolor paintings. I'm looking to collaborate with up to three musicians to simultaneously produce live music while I paint, and to have this music influence the outcome of the paintings. To accomplish this I will place speakers below and around the work as it dries (which takes up to 3 weeks).
The goal is to exhibit this live painting and music performance in art galleries and museums. Working up to this level will require practice, which can be done here in my studio.
I'm particularly interested in classical instruments combined with electronic music (analog and modular synths), as well as the sounds from rarer instruments from around the world (tabla, sitar, oud, didgeridoo, etc), as well as the vastness of percussion instruments. Ideally, these sessions would be recorded on camera as well as audio on multiple channels mic'd into Logic or Ableton so they can be edited, EQ'd, and eventually mixed and mastered for future release.
If you're interested in potentially collaborating, please share links to your work and I'll be happy to get in touch to discuss the idea further.
