With a heavy heart, we are needing to re-home a male rescue dog. This is a special needs dog so please read FULL listing. Archie is a neutured male approx. 2 1/2yrs old. He is believed to be a sharpie-Pit mix. Archie has retinol macular degeneration and is going blind. Currently, he has a little bit of eye sight left. This condition is not treatable and is not painful. There is no recovery for this condition and he does not need any meds or special care for this condition. HOWEVER, he does have aggression issues! He WILL need to be the ONLY animal you have. He IS food/toy aggressive. We have cats, other dogs and pigs and he tries and has bitten each of them. We also have 2 small children that have been bitten as he was playing with them. We have tried everything, he takes "calming" chews and we crate him as well as using a muzzle. Since we are not willing to give up our other animals who were here first or our children lol, we have decided to try to find him a home. All that said, he does listen very well, is very affectionate, and knows to stay in the yard, walk on leash, sit, paw and laydown. He's very protective of his family and has gone after our FedEx driver! So you will need 24/7 attention to him. He will need someone that understands this and can be with him daily.
