Description

Back to School Ethnic Hair and Skin Care Workshop for foster and adoptive parents Are your kiddos ready to go back to school? Cut it Forward wants to help you and your kiddo celebrate the start of a new school year with culturally relevant tips and techniques for your hair and skin care regimens. We are working with expert ethnic hair and skin care consultants to teach you the basics of weekly styling, including how to detangle, how to keep hair moisturized, and transitioning styles throughout the week. We will teach you how to choose effective hair products based on your child's hair texture as well as how to build healthy, tear-free hair care rituals! We can't forget about our kiddo's melanated skin! We will be answering your questions about moisturizing soaps, lotions, and proper skin care during the year as well. Another element of this workshop will include information about the Crown Act legislation which is helping to eradicate hair discrimination in our schools! We will also have a licensed counselor available to help you identify ways to guide your child during this school year. We're excited to share that each family that registers via Eventbrite will receive a complimentary Crown Box Kit. Each kit contains starter products and empowering messages to help you and your kiddo on your journey to healthy hair and moisturized skin. Cut it Forward workshops are also DHS Continuing Education Unit certified. In order to comply with safety protocols, registration is mandatory to attend the workshop. We are also asking all participants to please wear a mask. Location will be listed on your ticket after you complete registration, and will also be e-mailed to the email address provided. Venue is located in Oklahoma City, OK.
