Come learn the tricks to beautiful hand applique! Don't you love the look of Applique? Come try your hand at it! In this class you'll learn how to prep your applique pieces to achieve perfect points and curves. You'll also learn Maggie's tricks to achieving an applique stitch that is nearly invisible as you work on this pretty little wall quilt (pattern included). As a bonus, Maggie will demonstrate how to get a hand applique look on your sewing machine. SUPPLY LIST Fabric – listed as minimum requirements and don't have to be cut exactly: Flower – 5” x 5” Flower center - 3” x 6” Leaves – 3” x 6” Flower base – 2 ½” square Stem – bias cut – 8” x 1” (if you need help cutting on the bias, we can cut it in class Background – 10” square Setting triangles (optional) – 14” square Border (optional) – ¼ yard Scissors – small fine point scissors and paper scissors Pins – fine glass head recommend Fabric marking pen – blue washout recommend Sharpie fine tip marker – or other permanent marker Pencil Needles – Applique or Sharp size 10 or 11 Needle threader can come in handy Thread – 50 or 60 wt. Cotton or 100 wt. Silk thread recommended Fabric pressing cloth – ½ yard of muslin works well Freezer paper Pattern to be provided by instructor (batiks are recommended but not required) CLASS POLICY - Payment is required to secures your spot in a class. - A notice of at least 3 days (72 hours) is required from a registered student to receive a credit refund for a class they are unable to attend. - Should and issue arise, weather or otherwise, on the day of a scheduled class, the class may have to be canceled. You will receive an email or phone call/text to notify you should that happen. Every attempt will be made to reschedule a class. If MLM Quilting has to canceled and reschedule a class, you have the option to re-register or request a credit or refund.
